Our Faith

We believe as a church that all people need God in their lives, the God who is revealed in Jesus Christ. The church is God's gift to help us grow in our faith. The church is where the Word of God is proclaimed and the Sacraments are administered.

We Believe that the church is an essential part of the believer's life. It is a community that gathers to celebrate God's gifts to us in the context of the world in which we live. Worship, teaching, and caring, therefore, are at the heart of our congregational life.

Our Mission
Inspired by Christ to Love and Serve

Our mission is people. Jesus Christ came to minister to people. As followers of Jesus Christ our mission is both Christ centered and people centered. This mission includes our involvement in the community and at our jobs.

Members are also involved in ministries to the sick, the homebound, the hungry and the elderly. Through various opportunities provided by the congregation and through contributions to the ELCIC, the members of Christ Lutheran reach out in love.

Our Church History

Luther College relocated to Regina from Melville in 1926. In 1930 Christ Lutheran was created as a mission congregation consisting of Luther staff and area residents who met in the Luther chapel.

In 1949 Christ Lutheran’s first church building was built – a white frame Cap Cod structure that now calls Lumsden its home.

In 1963 the present building was built and was dedicated on January 26, 1964. Five years later the education centre was dedicated.

Starting from a congregation of approximately 30 people Christ Lutheran Church has grown to include 1357 baptized members, 1025 confirmed members, 618 families and many others who call this their spiritual home.
